Georges Lavergne is the son of Theodore Auguste Lavergne, an employee, and Rachel Eudoxie Paz.
He married a painter, Hélène Mosticzker, in Paris in 18991.
He died at his home in Paris at Villa Guibert in 1942, at the age of 79. Pupil of Henri Levy, then Jules Lefebvre. He appeared at the Salon des Artists Français and won the Prix de Rome in 1892. Active in Paris.Prix de Rome in painting (1892), knight and officer of the Legion of Honour
