Georges Lavergne was the son of Théodore Auguste Lavergne, an employee, and Rachel Eudoxie Paz.

He married a painter, Hélène Mosticzker, in Paris in 18991.

He died at his Parisian home at Villa Guibert in 1942, at the age of 79. Student of Henri Levy, then of Jules Lefebvre. He appeared at the Salon des Artistes Français and won the Prix de Rome in 1892. Active in Paris.Prix de Rome in painting (1892), knight and officer of the Legion of Honor
