Passionate about art, Louis XV's favourite is resolutely determined to dress the Royal Table with the most beautiful glasses, as perfect as those made by the Venetians. Under the direction of the Marquis de Marigny, brother of the Marquise de Pompadour, Cristal de Sèvres conquered a prestigious clientele throughout Europe.
However, it was during the reign of Charles X that the recognition of the know-how of Cristal de Sèvres exploded. In a century and a half, Cristalde Sèvres and its luxurious glasses have definitively conquered lovers of French tableware: to the aesthetics in tune with the times of the pieces produced is added an unparalleled crystal work. We particularly admire the production of opalines that will become the jewels of the Crown.
In 1878 the Cristallerie de Sèvres participated in the Universal Exhibition in Paris by producing crystal pieces mounted in gold or vermeil.
